Operation & Maintenance

Ensure the window handle is always in one of the three fixed positions: vertically upwards, horizontally, or vertically downwards.

Leaving the handle in an intermediate (diagonal) position may cause a misalignment (incorrect opening).

If this happens while the window is in the tilted position (top-opening), the sash might also swing open on its vertical axis at the same time.

Do not worry. The hardware's "stay arm" (the scissor-like mechanism) will hold the sash securely at the top.

To fix this: Move the handle to the upward position (tilt position). Press the sash firmly against the frame to close it. Then, turn the handle to the horizontal position (standard opening).

This occurs when the window is not equipped with a mishandling device (also known as a "fail-safe" or "incorrect operation safety lock").

Window Cleaning & Care

To preserve the appearance and durability of sensitive surfaces, careful cleaning and regular maintenance are essential. In many areas, high levels of air pollution can lead to stubborn stains that are difficult to remove. To prevent heavy buildup and to clean heavily soiled surfaces, we recommend regular maintenance using specialized cleaning agents for uPVC profiles.

The use of abrasive cleaners and dry cleaning with a cloth must be strictly avoided. Do not use cleaning or polishing agents containing solvents—specifically nail polish remover (acetone), nitro-thinners, or generic "plastic cleaners" (which may contain aggressive chemicals).

Normally soiled frames and sashes can be easily cleaned with lukewarm water and a small amount of mild dish soap.

Glass Cleaning & Care

They are best cleaned with lukewarm water or a glass cleaner, avoiding the use of corrosive agents or those containing solvents. Unlike old single-pane glass, everything seen through new double-glazed units appears without distortion, thanks to their exceptionally flat surface. Occasionally, at a certain angle of sunlight refraction, rainbow-colored patterns (interference) may be visible on the glass. This physical phenomenon is not a defect and does not constitute grounds for a warranty claim.

Seals & Gaskets

The gaskets along the frame and the sash also require regular cleaning to remove dust and other contaminants. If a gasket happens to slip out of its groove, simply press it back into place with your thumb, starting from the point where it is still properly seated.

Condensation

It is a common occurrence that after installing new windows, mould may form on walls behind furniture, behind pictures, or in the corners of exterior walls. This undesirable phenomenon is caused by the accumulation of moisture within the rooms. Unlike old windows, which provided forced ventilation due to poor sealing, modern windows create an airtight seal that eliminates this uncontrolled air exchange. Under certain climatic conditions, both the glass and the frame may experience condensation (sweating). This is explained by the fact that warm air can hold much more moisture than cold air. When warm air meets a cooler surface, it cools down, and the excess moisture that cannot be absorbed at this lower temperature is deposited as condensation. This is most frequently observed when high indoor humidity levels combine with low outdoor temperatures. The primary solution for preventing this phenomenon is proper and regular ventilation.

Ventilation

Regularly ventilating rooms prevents an increase in air humidity and, consequently, the potential formation of mold. Brief but intensive ventilation—ideally by creating a cross-draft by opening all windows—can completely exchange the air in a room in about 5 minutes. Prolonged ventilation unnecessarily cools down the interior walls and is energy-inefficient. During ventilation, windows should be wide open while the heating is turned off. Only after closing them should you turn the heating back on. Leaving a window slightly ajar continuously does not achieve sufficient ventilation. Humid air from one room should never be vented into another; it must always be "released" outside. The fogging or condensation of windows is a signal that the room needs to be ventilated, as the air humidity has increased. Through proper ventilation, you will simultaneously ensure a comfortable climate for the occupants.

Hardware

The hardware can be adjusted to ensure perfect operation. However, this must be performed by a specialist – only a qualified technician can accurately assess and implement the necessary adjustments. To function correctly over time, the hardware also requires regular cleaning and lubrication.

Attention!

Under no circumstances should you prop windows open or place wooden blocks or other objects between the sash and the frame to prevent them from slamming. Doing so can lead to serious damage to the hardware and cause the window to malfunction.
